Imaginary Companion – Episode 2

Imaginary friend, or imaginary companion, is a product of children’s creativity. Imaginary companions can be people, but they can also take the shape of animals, toys, or even abstract ideas like monsters. So do children with imaginary companions more creative? What happens to these imaginary companions when children grow up?

In this episode, Yasheng She continues the discussion on imaginary companion with Dr. Aguiar.  But this time, the gender of imaginary companions comes into question. Why do children want friends of a specific sex and what does that mean?
